Testimonials

"I think in general dog sitters are a blessing given that the quarantine period in Australia is significantly lengthy.  However what really sets dogwalks apart is your responsiveness to inquiries, friendliness and promptness.  Also, I was really grateful that you continued to visit Lilo even when it was raining and unsuitable to walk her.  Thanks a lot."  Steven, owner of Lilo

Tip of the Day

Don't forget the pooper scooper bags when walking your dog. In some parts you can be fined if you are caught without one.

Dog Walking, Dog Care and Dog Treats in Australian Quarantine
Welcome to Dog Walks Australia PDF Print E-mail

Dog Walks is an independent dog walking service in Australia available for exercising and visiting dogs in all three AQIS quarantine stations.

We take great pride in offering a professional, quality service that ensures your loved ones' physical as well as mental needs are catered for during their stay in quarantine. Our dedicated team members are not just dog walkers. We are highly experienced animal handlers with backgrounds in the animal care and welfare industry and with the knowledge to make your pet's stay in quarantine the most positive it can be.

We also understand the process of emigrating with your dog and the importance of keeping in touch with your pet and its needs. We are here for advice and help on the export process as well updating you each and every time we see your pet with emails and photos.

Dog Walks' staff are also all passionate pet owners so we understand and know the heartache involved when having to leave them and put your pet in someone else's hands. We can never replace the special attention you give to your dog but that doesn't stop us trying to be as close as we can be!

Our service is unique as we are the only company that caters to all quarantine stations throughout Australia, working exclusively with quarantine animals. You may book our services to:-

  • Exercise your dog
- we will exercise your pet at the quarantine station two times each week
  • Visit your dog
- visits are for grooming, play, affection, human contact and a general close look at your pet's overall well-being. In addition to the walks, we visit a further 2 x per week.
  • Receive regular updates and see photos of your dog onlineCleo
- Dog Walks will take digital photos of your dog every time we see your dog and publish them on our site for you to see. We also email you regular news and updates.
  • Give your dog the extra care that you would like
- This is the fun part for us. We love dogs. We love spending time with them, cuddling and playing with them.  Tell us about your dog so we can connect with it and therefore bond that bit sooner. Not only that but we are experienced animal handlers and have been in your shoes too.  So ask if you have a special request - we want your dog to be as happy as possible in quarantine. We have delivered toys, different food, bedding. We bathe dogs too. We have worked with therapists to help special needs dogs.
  • Give your dog a toy and the treats of your choice
- each time we see your pet (or as instructed by you), we will give your dog his favourite treats. Choose from our range including bonios, pig ears, schmackos and liver treats. We will also give your dog a brand new toy as they arrive to play with during walks and visits (see our special page for toys suitable for unsupervised use).

Good Evening,

Well it feels that summer has finally come to Australia! Well in Queensland anyway we had 29 degrees today and I was forced to change my UGG boots! How does it go from needing boots and jumpers to baking overnight? And Spring only officially started yesterday! Strange but fantastic. Bring back the warmth I say! Mind you, it is sunny all year round so we can't complain, can we :). What it does mean though is that we need to start thinking about making our pups more comfortable in the heat. The season of short haircuts and frequent hosedowns is not far away.

And as always, lots more new arrivals so don't forget to look at our gorgeous furry friends' faces on the gallery.

Take care for now,

Karen
